Review: The 1 Series Convertible was developed after the hatchback version and the diesel engines have similar economic fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. The same low slung driving position and sheer energy as the BMW 1 Series Hatchback but with perhaps a little more of the traditional BMW look about it. The top of the range 135i Twin Turbo gets from 0 to 60mph in just over 5 seconds but all are strong performers. Road grip is assured and steering tight and accurate and it deals with most driving conditions very well. The electric folding roof is made of fabric but is well insulated.
