Review: The C-MAX is one of the all round best small MPV's on the market with excellent road holding and handling which is part due to the fact that it uses the same chassis as the much acclaimed Ford Focus Hatch. Review (continued): There are plenty of useful cubby holes and extra storage compartments and equipment provision is excellent with a good range of options across the range although the Style is the only one without air conditioning. Safety provision includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, Emergency Brake Assist, a steel safety cage with an engine compartment cross beam and side impact door beams. There are three Duratec petrol engines - 1.6i, 1.8i and 2.0i - with combined fuel efficiencies of 40.9mpg, 39.8mpg and 39.2mpg (automatic 35.3mpg) respectively and CO₂ emissions of 164g/km, 169g/km and 171g/km (automatic 189g/km). Three Duratorq diesel engines are available - 1.6 TDCi, 1.8 TDCi and 2.0 TDCi (the last available with Powershift transmission) - with combined fuel economies of 60.1mpg, 52.3mpg and 49.5mpg (Powershift 47.9mpg) respectively and CO₂ emissions of 124g/km, 143g/km and 149g/km (Powershift 159g/km).
