Review (continued): The Galaxy was awarded five stars for adult occupant protection in the Euro NCAP crash tests and four stars for child protection. The Ford Galaxy comes in three trims - Edge, Zetec and Ghia and, with the exception of the 2.3 Duratorq diesel engine which is only available on the Ghia, the two Duratec petrol engines and remaining two Duratorq diesel engines can be had with any trim. Of the Duratec petrol engines the 2.0i emits 197g/km CO₂ and has a combined average fuel efficiency of 34.4mpg and the 2.3i has CO₂ emissions of 235g/km and an average combined fuel economy of 28.8mpg. The smallest Duratorq diesel engines is the 1.8 TDCi (100PS) which emits 165g/km of CO₂ (1.8 TDCi 125 PS is 166g/km) and has a combined average fuel economy of 44.8mpg. Next, the 2.0 TDCi (140 PS) has CO₂ emissions of 1g/km (196g/km Auto) and returns a combined average of 45.6mpg (38.1mpg Auto). Lastly, the 2.2 TDCi has CO₂ emissions of 179g/km and a combined fuel economy of 42.2mpg.
