Review (continued): The Ford Ranger comes in four trims in addition to the basic Ranger. They are the the XLT, Thunder, Thunder Double Cab Automatic and Wildtrak. There are three cab styles - Regular, Super and Double. The basic Ranger, XLT and Thunder utilise the 2.5 litre Duratorq (143 PS) diesel. The basic Ranger is available as a 4x4 in all cab styles and as a 4x2 in Regular and Super. The XLT and Thunder are available as a 4x4 in either Super or Double cab. The Thunder Double Cab and Wildtrak are both 4x4 vehicles (Double Cab) and use the 3.0 litre Duratorq (156 PS) diesel engine. CO2 emissions range from 227g/km to 252g/km and combined average fuel economies between 34.0mpg and 30.7mpg. Safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, (front seat side airbags on models from XLT up) anti submarining front seats and a collapsible steering column.
