Review (continued): It's an engaging car to drive, with responsive steering, superb braking and excellent body control. The interior is well made and distinctive, while the boot space is amongst the very best in its class. In terms of safety and in addition to four airbags the Civic has VSA and ABS with EBD. As well as the superb 2.2 i-CDTi diesel engine there are two petrol engines available - the 1.4 i-DSI and 1.8 i-VTEC. The 1.8 petrol engine turns in some very creditable performance figures, getting between 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds with a combined average fuel economy of 44.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.
