Review (continued): Performance is very respectable with the manual petrol version accelerating between 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds and the diesel in 9.7 seconds. CO2 emissions are 183g/km and 165g/km respectively. The petrol engine returns an average 36.7 combined mpg and the diesel engine 44.8mpg. Luggage space is good, there a plenty of cubby holes and holders and the rear seats split 60:40. The interior looks and feels sporty and the seats support and grip well. All the materials look good quality and are durable enough to soak up knocks and scuffs. Road holding is good and the steering crisp. Overall the new version of the Lancer is able to match many in the market on any number of features.
