Review: The new and very distinctively styled Micra comes with a reputation for reliability and build quality. Basic levels of equipment are good and there are plenty of options to choose from. It is available as a three or five door hatchback in five different trims - Visia, Acenta (including Acenta+), Tekna, 160 SR and Active Luxury - and four petrol engines and one diesel. The 1.2 16v 65PS is available with manual transmission on the Visia and the 1.2 16v 80PS as manual or automatic on the Acenta and Tekna. Review (continued): The 1.6 16v 110PS is available with manual transmission only on the 160 R and Active Luxury. The one diesel engine is the 1.5 dCi 86PS available on all models and with manual transmission. Both the 1.2 litre engines have a combined cycle fuel economy of 47.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 139g/km. The 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol engines have combined cycle fuel economies respectively of 44.8mpg and 42.8mpg with CO2 emissions of 154g/km and 158g/km. The 1.5 dCi diesel engine not only performs well but returns an average of 61.4mpg with CO2 emissions of just 120g/km. Safety features on all models include ABS with EBD and BA, front active headrests plus driver and front passenger front and side airbags. Curtain airbags are an optional extra. The 160 SR and some of the Active Luxury versions include ESP and this can be included as an optional extra on other models except the Visia. All have remote central locking with anti hijack switch and an immobiliser.
