Review: The Yaris has all the hallmark features of Toyota's smaller cars - surprisingly roomy, economical to run and well above average build quality. You can choose between three petrol engines - the smallest and the only three cylinder is the 1.0 litre VVT-i - and the four cylinder versions are 1.3 litre VVT-i and 1.8 litre Dual VVT-i.There is one diesel engine on offer - the 1.4 litre D4-D 90. Review (continued): The Yaris handles with composure and agility in or out of town, seats four adults comfortably and the interior layout has clean lines and an airy, spacious feel. Its storage space and adaptability is amongst the best for this size of car. Depending on whether or not the rear seats are pushed back for maximum leg room there is between 272 and 363 litres of boot space. The rear seats will split and/or fold flat with ease and you can get a maximum of 737 litres of storage room. There are also a number of other storage compartments, pockets and cup holders. All versions have ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist and have a number of crash resistant and energy ABSorbing features built in. All but the entry level T2 (driver and passenger front airbags only) have driver and passenger front and side airbags, front and rear curtain shield airbags and a driver's kneebag. It achieved five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
