Review (continued): There are some nice touches inside in case you need reminding that you're driving the GTI including sports seats and a red stitched three spoke steering wheel. It all adds to the feel and the fun of driving it. As in the Hatchback the safety equipment is comprehensive. The thing that has always made the GTI such a compelling drive is the sheer thrust combined with supreme manoeuvrability, precision and balance in every type of situation.
